Our E-Visits (formerly known as Virtual Visits) are designed for those patients who are due for a visual check, but who may not require any hands-on work at the moment. Advantages include:
- No unnecessary visits to the office, no need to take that afternoon off work!
- You “complete” your appointment (by sending an email) whenever it’s most convenient for you
- Helps us to provide physical distancing within our offices for your in-person visits
- Perfect for: growth & development “observation” visits, retainer checks, elastics monitoring, etc.
Hint: the “E” is for Email
An E-visit “appointment” is an exchange of emails with Dr Ames or Dr Peterson. One of the doctors will reply (by email) after reviewing your photos (usually within a few days).
Send us your email at your convenience; there is no “live” or teleconferenced meeting.
Why Do I Still Have a
Scheduled Appointment?
Setting an “appointment” for your E-Visit allows us to send out an email reminder to you with instructions, but you are free to send your email in to us at any time!
Preparing for your E-Visit
Please take a series of 6 photos from the angles illustrated below. Please email these along with any
questions or concerns you currently have to: virtualvisit@amesorthodontics.com
For the “inside mouth” (intraoral) photos, please note the various CLEAN finger and spoon positions to get the best photos! Please be sure that the patient is biting down in their normal bite (teeth closed, lips open) for the last three photos; it’s important for us to see how the bite currently comes together.
